How to apply

ADMISSION

Suitable candidates have a BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures or equivalent programmes and have already acquired at least 30 ECTS in two foreign languages (15 each) and 30 ECTS in two foreign literatures (15 each) – see the Italian site for further details.

All candidates will be interviewed prior to admission, the only exception being for students who are transferring from other LM-37 programmes or who got their BA degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures in the previous five years with a mark of at least 100/110.

International students from EU countries follow the same admission rules as Italian students.

International students from non-EU countries should first read the guidelines at the page Prospective students: Join Us.

The evaluation interview referenced in the link above focuses on the candidates' academic background and, if applicable, their professional experience. More specifically, it aims to assess:

  • the language proficiency required as a prerequisite to access the first-year exams for the language(s) of interest;
  • the completion, in previous academic studies, of exams equivalent to at least 10 CFU/ECT in one or more European and/or American literatures;
  • the knowledge and competence in such literature(s), that are necessary for students to undertake our academic program.
